ABOUT DR. KARINA RABINOWITZ

EDUCATION

I earned my Ph.D. and M.A. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. I completed my Doctoral Internship at Texas A&M University’s Counseling and Psychological Services. Prior, I attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA and received a B.A. in Psychology. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas (TX 39139).

I consider myself a life long learner. Beyond my passion for knowledge and understanding, I believe it is my duty to remain up to date on the latest research in counseling psychology, neurobiology, and social justice.

CLINICAL

My therapeutic style is eclectic. I have been influenced by interpersonal, attachment, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and multicultural theories.

However, I center relationships above all else in my practice. Over the course of our work, you can expect to discuss important relationships in your life including your relationship with yourself and the therapeutic relationship we build together.

I am an LGBTQIA+ allied therapist, and I support the movement for racial justice. I honor and value your unique set of personal identities, and I invite you to bring your whole self into the therapy room.

PERSONAL

I am originally from Southern California, but I consider myself a full-fledged Austinite after nearly a decade in this city!

Austin's easily accessible nature, mind-blowing food scene, and ample swimming holes leave me feeling right at home in the heart of Texas.

I have a wonderful partner, two sweet dogs, and a little one who keep me busy outside of my therapy practice. I also enjoy reading novels, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time outside.
